1922Lillian Mary WestroppIn 1922, Clare E. Westropp and her sister Lillian founded the Women's Federal Savings & Loan Co. in Cleveland, OH. They received support from a group of business and professional women. Born May 9, 1884, Lillian M. Westropp graduated from West High School and the Dyke School of Commerce. She enrolled in Baldwin-Wallace College law school and graduated in 1915. She was one of the first women admitted to the Cleveland Bar Association and the first woman elected to its executive committee. Her sister Clara assisted with financing and promoting the Women's Savings & Loan Co. Lillian was president of the Women's Savings & Loan Co. until her retirement in 1957.
